Winter Wonderland of Produce

While the frost of winter may not bring to mind a cornucopia of fresh produce, there are a variety of fruits and vegetables that grow during this season.

Citrus fruits are abundant as are root vegetables and those that thrive under colder conditions. Eating a host of colors is very possible in winter and will keep you healthier for the long term. It may even boost your immunity and ward off the common cold.

Here is a list of the prevalent produce on store shelves this winter, and you can even check out which region or state your food is likely coming from. Many of these foods may also be available in locally grown, organic varieties.
