Meet the Fitness Community Challenge Moms

Get-fit goals: “I used to be a very avid gym-goer prior to pregnancy, going five days a week. I want to get my motivation back, so I can be healthier.”

Activity she likes: “Going to the gym to go on an elliptical machine is boring to me. I enjoy a group exercise atmosphere.”

Obstacles to overcome: “I need to rearrange my schedule and make the time,” says Nicholson, who is a production manager at a trade news publishing company. “The news never stops, but there’s always an hour of downtime somewhere in the day.”

A family affair: “In the spring, summer, and fall, my daughter, husband, and I go for walks almost every evening. And as soon as I get home from work, I’m on the floor playing with Julianna.”

Why she’s excited about the shape-up challenge: “It’s something to motivate me and give me that push—just enough to be supportive, but not overbearing.”
